It too often is the case that in teaching the Great Depression, teachers focus on the economics or on the shortcomings of the Hoover response.  With this lesson, we aim to investigate the human toll of the Great Depression.
 

Today, we will watch a scene from Cinderella Man that depicts the shock the the Depression.  Then we will examine primary source statistics and anecdotes from two excellent histories on this era.
